Are Australian retailers doomed? We think not.

With the arrival of Amazon, the continued rise of voice search and the ever-changing world of digital marketing, we thought it’d be a good idea to get a few of the best and brightest we know together for a chat.

The APD Responsive Retailer event in Melbourne combined the experience and expertise of some of the biggest brands in Australia with key figures from APD and IBM. Over breakfast, representatives from brands such as Kikki.K, Brandbank, Nine West, Queen Victoria Market and Style Thread took part in a roundtable discussion in which they examined everything from the arrival of Amazon to how to better target consumers.

There was also a presentation from APD Chief Transformation Officer Inês Almeida. During her talk, she touched on the polarising views that come with the Amazon’s arrival. It’s not all doom and gloom, as some have feared; great leaders with great strategies, as well as a way to execute these strategies, can continue to thrive in the face of this giant new player in the region.
